When I was in kindergarten (b4 I dropped out),
we had nap time, on our respective desks.

I resented it, at the time.
In later years, I 'd have liked it.

I used to take naps. Now I'm too busy sleeping to bother napping.

Hey, me. Wake the hell up.

I don't nap regularly, but, when I do tend to droop mid-afternoon, I love being able to take a snooze of about an hour and a half.

I find I sleep better at night when I take an afternoon nap. Go figure.

My mother and I used to nap every day after lunch. When I went to PM kindergarten and they pulled out those rugs for our afternoon "rest" I promptly fell asleep. One parent / teacher conference with social worker (why is this child falling asleep every day at school?) I was moved to AM kindergarten classes. Everything was fine after that. .

I am still a morning person but I still like my afternoon nap.
The sofa calls me now . . .

@jcboy,
I just wish that I could nap! I can't remember ever dozing off in the way everybody else seems to find so easy.

@vonny,
I don't really fall asleep vonny, more like drifting, just resting. The drifting is very nice.

@chai2,
My husband regularly 'rests his eyes' whilst purportedly watching television - at least that's what he calls it! Rolling Eyes

I think my problem is that I rarely relax - I'm a chronic insomniac, probably for the same reason.

Yeah, my husband rests his eyes, and makes all sorts of noise while he does it...ZZZZZZZZ......

Unable to relax?
Try this supplement called ZMA. Zinc Magnesium Apertate.

The magnesium is a muscle relaxant, and this formula doesn't have the negative side effects people get taking straight magnesium.

@chai2,
The supplement sounds interesting - I'll look out for it in chemists or health food shops. Thank you.

@OmSigDAVID,
errrr.....magnesium can really do a number on your bowels.

Hence why one of the uses for epsom salts is for constipation.

Although, taking an epsom salt bath or foot soak is also very relaxing, and doesn't get into your digestive system that way.

I had my thyroid out 4 months ago and am still adjusting to life without one. So I've been dog tired and I nap every day I can when my youngest naps. And the last week I've been sick so I make it doubly important to nap. I nap anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Naps are the bomb. I am one of those lucky people who don't feel shitty after a nap.

@chai2,
I ve been taking magnesium for some years
against painful cramping. "Potasium & Magnesium Aspartate 25O"

If I take too much of it, the bad side effect
is that I stink myself out, requiring many showers a day.
I think that 1 capsule in 24 hours is probably ideal,
if I get no threats of cramping.

In the 198Os, I floated myself in a saltwater floatation tank
(1,OOO pounds of salt dissolved into the water, to make u ride high)
heated to body temperature in the Spa in the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.

It sucked out my limberness and left my joints feeling stiff
for several months, until I re-generated. Accordingly, I 'm skeptical
of the wisdom of getting too close to salt baths.

@OmSigDAVID,
epsom salts is not the salt found in salt water.

empsom salt is Magnesium Sulfate

regular table salt is Sodium Chloride

Not the same thing at all.
