Deduction:
All men are mortal
Socrates is a man
(so)Socrates is mortal.
Deduction is based on the logic of set membership. If the premises are true, the conclusion must be true.

Induction:
The sun has risen on successive days for the last "n" years.
The sun rose today.
(so) The sun is likely to rise tomorrow.

An inductive argument is based on extrapolation from an established pattern.
The conclusion is a likely outcome of the premises.
