Why do we have the word Miracle
The word miracle would appear to be a term that simply denotes ignorance. If a person is ill and becomes well, or if accounted dead but returns to consciousness, some process takes place that needs to be understood. It may simply be a coma. Until it is understood we should at least be honest and state the obvious fact of our ignorance. When a person dies, if there is no catastrophic trauma to the body, it is the brain that deteriorates rapidly beyond recovery. Recovery is possible during a brief period after bodily functions cease, in particular breathing and circulation of blood. This process of dying may be slowed down in very low temperatures. Should deterioration continue so that the brain is beyond recovery, then a 'return to life' would need very special explanation, but even so the term 'miracle' would not contribute anything to understanding. What Jesus of Nazareth did in his miracles, supposing they were reported at all correctly, is probably impossible to determine from the little evidence at hand. But even as death is a process, so must a miracle involve a process. Even 'gods' cannot do the logically impossible or absurd.
@RW Standing,
Yes there is Science. Yes there are Doctors that say and Vets, take them home to die. Then there are the sheer will, determination from the person, the animal or the owner, the partner that pulls one through.
I call that a Miracle because LOVE beats all
