Nine. I just grazed some, such as the Grand Canyon and went to Disneyland instead of Disney World, so I didn't count such.

@cicerone imposter,
That's impressive C.I.
And I can't imagine that the OP link includes every place you've visited...

@Cyracuz,
There's also a lot of personal preferences on there. Winchester Cathedral for example, it's nice enough, but then again so are Salisbury and Wells Cathedrals, not to mention York Minster. I can't see why Winchester was singled out as the one you must visit. Maybe it's because of the song.

@izzythepush,
Yes. If York Minister is that awesome cathedral in York I have actually been there.
I've also been in the Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York.
Even though I am not a christian, both were humbling experiences.

@Cyracuz,
It is, I don't know why they call it a Minster and not a Cathedral, but that's bloody Yorkshire for you.

I think Wells Cathedral is one of the prettiest in the UK, although not quite as majestic as Winchester.

@izzythepush,
I think Winchester is more than just the size and architectural beauty; it's the history that's within it.

@cicerone imposter,
York Minster has every bit as much History as Winchester Cathedral.

@izzythepush,
I know; I've been to York twice, and remember taking a picture of that cathedral (minster). Walked on the walls of York, in addition to visiting the train museum.

@cicerone imposter,
Winchester was once the capital of Wessex, and Edward the Confessor was crowned there, but all the cathedrals have some significance. I think if you've seen any British cathedral other than Winchester you should get a free pass.

I'm surprised they didn't include Chartres Cathedral. Tres magnifique.

25 - but I'll finally get to knock off some of the US ones next year. I've at least been to all the Australian ones.

I'm glad they included Winchester Cathedral. I haven't been to the others.

An odd thing happened at Winchester Cathedral. We arrived, had a look around and then joined a tour of the cathedral and crypt, during which a goodly number of photos were taken. When we checked later, there was not a single photo of Winchester, cathedral or town. Bizarre!

+ 2 - I missed 2 Sad
