Angular Momentum and Commutation Relations

Components of angular momentum do not commute (means that they are not simultaneously measurable) but square of angular momentum commute with each of its components. What is physically square of angular momentum (as this squared quantity commute with any of the components, it means it is simultaneously measurable quantity)? What it is really?
