Our task is to explain how the control over the animals in Animal Farm is described.
I really don't understand the task, and if someone could explain it to me, with just one example (more if you want) I would really appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance!

I don't have the book at hand,
but if u read it, then just write down what it says about controlling them.

@Scgerk,
One example would be how propaganda in the form of slogans was used. For specific examples of that, you'll have to read the book.

Nice try, though. :-)

@Scgerk,
Animal farm is a parody of the Russian Revolution and the Communist dictatorship which followed it. You need to think about the human farmer as the usurped Czar, and the eventual aspirations of the pigs to emulate him by controlling information, communication and resources.

@dalehileman,
I know it has to do with Communism. Whilst we read it in class, my teacher would explain to us what something symbolised. Like Moses, for example. He represented the Russian Orthodox Church, if I remember correctly.

I've read it over and over. I really just need someone to explain the task to me. Still, thanks to those who have answered so far. I really appreciated it Smile

@Scgerk,
Try dividing "control" into physical, mental and social and note the types and shifts between these as the story unfolds.

@dalehileman,
Oh okay. Hehe, sorry. Basically, the question we were given was how is the control of the animals described in Animal Farm. We just have to write a couple of paragraphs with our answers. The problem is I don't know how exactly to answer, that is, until now.
Anyway thanks again Smile
