It may not have been as gruesome as Mel Gibson's movie, but many parents and children got upset when a church trying to teach about Jesus' crucifixion performed an Easter show with actors whipping the Easter bunny and breaking eggs.
I wonder what the church will do for Xmas? Nails for Santa?

Was at the Mall t'other day... my eleven year old son (SealPup the younger) looks down from the upper level, sees the Easter Bunny posing for pictures on the lower level, and says, with as much scorn as he can muster
"So! We meet again..."

Everyone knows that it's lambs and goats who are flayed and eaten for easter...if you are Greek....or Portugeuse, or even Italian. Whipping a bunny just isn't right, but it is funny, in the same way that a kid at Disneyland kicks Mickey Mouse in the nads.

I am becoming provoked - the Easter Bunny is a close family friend who has never done aught to hurt (unless you count the cursed provision of chocolate to those of us already wearing too much of it on our hips) - or at least has never INTENDED to hurt!
