Do some singers manufacture vibrato and use it, even if its not technically correct?

I have taken many singing lessons, but vibrato never naturally happened for me. I hear people like elvis, jason aldean, merle haggard, and willie nelson use vibrato, and I love it! Are they trained singers, or did they maybe just teach themselves how to do vibrato, even if it is not technically the right way to so it?
