Can someone please help with this.

If you look at a scientific calculator, like the one that comes with microsoft for example.

The symbols I want to know about are

this: x^3

and this: x^2

The caret operator x^y means x raised to the y power.

x^2 = x squared = x*x
x^3 = x cubed = x*x*x
x^(1/2) = square root of x
