Background first. I've been dying my hair black for roughly a year now, and I've dyed it black multiple times. I was so stupid when dying it because I never thought of the fact that It'd be a pain in the *** to remove it. Anyway, I decided to try the Color Oops hair dye stripper, and the result was the top portion of my hair being an orange/blonde color, and the bottom being a dark brown, I was not shocked, I expected this result because I've dyed the bottom more, and only dyed the top a couple times when my roots grew. I dyed the top part a dark brown to match the bottom part, and it looked fine, although i was upset because it really looked like I didn't do much to my hair, it was only a few shades lighter.
NOW: It's a few months later and I want to know if anyone recommends stripping it again? Would it make a difference?( I'm not worried about the damage it would do, I take very good care of my hair.) I just want a lighter brown color, like i intended on when i first stripped it.
@pislik7,
Get the advice of a professional hair colorist after he/she has examined the condition of your hair and previous dye jobs.
@Butrflynet,
I stripped it roughly 3 months ago, and haven't chemically treated it since, so I'd like to think my hair is in good shape, it seems healthy and strong, and I've also cute down on heat this summer, thanks anyway!
@pislik7,
I'll suggest you to contact professional experts before doing more experiments. It is my personal experience, i had started coloring my hair with chemicals, and resulting damaged hair.
@sharlenekeene,
Again, it's not the damage I'm worried about, I'm confident that my hair can handle it, since I've been chemically treating it for years now, I just want to know if stripping it again would actually lighten it, that's it. I just want to gradually lighten my hair over time.
