Does anyone else ever have the "paranoid" feeling that most people with influence regarding educational curricula prefer to educate kids for the contributions they might make to the success of industry and the military but not for their development as social critics (the latter of which is what is needed for the operation of truly successful democracies) Question

I think the problem JL is a horrendous fear--especially on The Right--that early exposure to philosophic ideas might impart ideas contrary to thse of their parents
