Is there anyone here who is not an Atheist, Christian (of any sort), Muslim, or Jewish person?

Hi! I am a Taoist, and I'm curious to see how many people here do not follow Abraham religions or strict atheism. You can go ahead and state your religion and whatever else you want to say, or in the case that you belong to one of the four groups mentioned in the title tell me if you know someone who doesn't and/or what you think of people who are outsiders to those four points of view.

@joijoi,
There are some Buddhists here, and I have seen a couple of pagans.

Dudeist!

The Church of the Latter Day Dude--uses points contained in many of the world religons and has been influenced by the writings of Laozi, Epicurus, Heraclitus, Buddha, and the pre-ecclesiastical Jesus Christ.

The nearest thing to a Dudeist Dogma is 'this too will pass.'

@dalehileman,
I used to use "agnostic"...proudly.

But I now recognize that getting hung up on the label can detract from discussions...so I just describe my position...and let anyone who has to use a label use it.

On the immediate question of gods...I acknowledge that I do not know if gods exist; I do not know if gods do not exist; I do not think it unreasonable to suggest that a GOD or gods might be a part of the REALITY; I do not think it unreasonable to suggest that no gods exist; I see no reason to assert that gods have to exist in order to explain existence; and I see no reason to assert gods cannot possibly exist.

I see no unambiguous evidence upon which I can make a meaningful guess on the issue...so I just leave it at: I do not know.

Thanks for asking, Dale.

@dalehileman,
It means that I believe that the Universe was created by the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I have been touched by His noodly appendage.

By coincidence so did I

I daresay. Also resistance to label is not uncommon. Therefore as an apparent pantheist I added the adjectives "apodictical" and "existential"

Interesting you should so concede. I have long struggled with the idea of reality--as I might have mentioned at other postings elsewhere--concluding it to be a relative concept along the concrete-abstract scale, Her reality or lack thereof depending entirely on where one draws the line

However Intuition insists there's more to the Whole Shebang than the random, meaningless bouncing of particles off one another, culminating in a huge number of particles of varying sizes mutually accelerating apart forever whilst approaching absolute zero--at different rates of course depending on size

Quote:
I do not think it unreasonable to suggest that no gods exist;
Nor do I although Intuition insists on a sort of unity that casts doubt on their number

Quote:
I see no reason to assert that gods have to exist in order to explain existence;
Nor do I. It's perfectly reasonable to assume that She is a natural phenom having existed forever and that things are the way they are because they can't be any other way. But I still find our part in it very mysterious

I don't either
