Simplify the following:

(y^2*y)/y^6
(a^2/a^5)^3
1/(s^3)^3
m^-3/4 / m^-5/2

Do the following logarithm:

8.79^x = 67.65
2.79^(x - 1) = 4.377^x

@Confused student,
a^x = b implies loga(b) = x where loga is "log base a"

For problems like this, you can take the log of both sides. In the first problem, you get...
log (8.79^x) = log 67.65
x log 8.79 = log 67.65
x = log 67.65 / log 8.79

Use the same technique to solve for the second problem
