The premise, to scientifically provide some evidence as to why spirituality really exists... Something that physically quantifies its presence.

Oh, because Abraham saw an angel... Therefore, the spirit exists.

We know we exist, we know we are alive with some sort of life force that we genetically pass on to offspring. We know the earth is our home and our universe a wondrous place. We share this life with many other forms of life.

Where is the world beyond this? How do we quicken our spirits and transcend into this immortal state?

How do we measure and comprehend the effect that religion is having on the world? Just for the sake of arguing, is religion good or bad? Is a person only as good as their religion? That even atheists probably have a religion.

Are any of these religions true?

Is the purpose of religion itself? Behind the mask of these religions are their Gods that cheat, is there some real God that we all should reveal?

I would surmise that "goodness" starts with a purity of heart, single-mindedness and honesty, trust... A desire to be good. You can get by without these things I guess.

Is that spirituality? Is spirituality infectious? Can it be passed on like a copy of data?

Some connect the way you live with the spirit you are occupied by. Is this a spiritual rental or spiritual option to buy?

Religion tries to explain why people are bad. Does that make religion bad too? It can be argued so. If the religion is not true. How do we know the spirit is true? Are we imagining things and living our lives by fantastical ideas that have no basis whatsoever in reality? Yet billions subscribe daily. ...so easily drawn into believing with eyes and ears, led by the bells rung to softly spoken words of reverence...

I quoted the Bible in saying "God so loved the world that he gave..."

I did not write this, I am quoting it. I am at heart at least to what I actually think of myself, agnostic. I do not know if God is a he, she, non neutered spirit or nothing at all. God could be a single photon of light for all I know.

I see no more reason why God could not be a female any more or less than a male.

I think of it like this. God is love and both females and males partake in the very same love. Love is gender blind. That is one way to look at it.

Essentially, that passage indicates that the GOD "so loved the world" that he required people to torture and kill his (the writers were thinking, masculine) son in order to forgive them for having offended him!!!!!!!

The people had offended the GOD by doing the things that people do...and the GOD essentially said, "I will forgive you for offending me, but first you have to torture and kill my son."

Does anything about that seem strange to anyone reading here?

@RexRed,
Transcendence, Rex, may not be entirely a pleasing or pretty affair, even in it's dragon like flow beyond human mere physicality, it becomes the unidirectional course of humanities path.

At such juncture I remind myself of either the nebula and their almost immortal beauty and state, or the Van Allen belt and its almost never ending state of raw power as a force.

Frank.
Not really strange no.
To know people are inferior to your forces means you have licence to acquire and use them. It is a logical deduction by the writers of the bible at the time of their comprehension.

Spirituality passed on as copies Rex, has been the way of man since far before Jesus, in even terms never truly grasped by the ancients, before certain eventualities took place within mans comprehension after the genesis of this planet allowed man to transcend to higher brain functions than previously witnessed, such will be again, or we will pain to adapt to what we should truly be.

Please excuse my arrogance, I am a copy of a combination of gallery components and that is dominant.

Regards
D.

Maybe Frank She meant that the humanoid needs a hero and the only way to ensure the longevity of his principle is to make him a martyr

@DavJohanis,
Dav in your reply to Rex I detect no arrogance but your somewhat advanced sentence construction doesn't contribute to its comprehensibility by the hurried or lazy Average Clod (me)

@dalehileman,
No no, my good man, I merely make a point at none of your expense.

Also Rex, some people are good by altruistic tendency only and God is quite the hindrance, to some of them.

@Frank Apisa,
Frank I agree with the perspective you portray about the God of the Bible.

I also see that a God's, irregardless of neuter, first mistake would be to attempt to demonstrate human love.

Love can be a damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of thing.

From the story of Lucifer and his angels, Adam and Eve, A slew of stories in-between, the world rejecting Jesus and his death.

There is one common theme in all of the stories.

Some might say "lunacy". Because the God the stories portray is certainly a spectacle to say the least. Yet as crazy as the God gets there is always the stipulation of "obedience". We might argue that obedience and a lunatic God are a bad combination. That is an understatement...

But let's step back. What if this obedience is part of our cosmic makeup?

Lucifer disobeyed God and God threw him out of heaven.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and they were thrown out of paradise.

The world disobeyed an arguably incarnate Jesus and martyred him.

We seem to never be ready for things when they happen.

Noah's flood caught people unaware.

Is "good" being obedient to something? Is this something a primal part of our psyche or is it a collective set of laws that have been agreed upon based upon social constructs and tribal rule?

A certain formula for fears and love.

There are many in society who are libertarian and find this dictate to obedience distasteful and insulting.

If one is not obedient to their own ideas this would certainly attest to the lack in value of these ideas that they are so easily compromised.

Or is it our nature to break boundaries, to venture into the unknown inner world of our own self?

Whatever the laws would be they are still broken. Broken by rebellion from God? Broken by turning away from a natural guide perhaps the spirit.

Perhaps a benevolent and insightful photon of light..
