Life is an illusion

I don't know or would care to try and fathom this optical illusion but after looking at a couple of seconds, I'm already starting to get a behind the eyes headache. I kind of wish I could turn that annoying animated GIF off.

If the yellow lines were to follow the path of the outlines...it would look crooked...and rather bizarre. Stop it and try it...you will see.

If you do what the person who made this does...you can make it look like an optical illusion...but it truly isn't.

Or at least, that it what it seems to me.

As you can see...the background hatching disguises the fact that the lines end artificially in order to allow the yellow shading to be drawn covering in a way that makes it look as though the word appears strait. It would be easier to see if the background hatching were eliminated. In a true optical illusion, the background hatching would be the cause of the effect. Here...it is just used to disguise the way the yellow shading is done.

Interesting effect nonetheless!
