If someone will consider the career path of disaster relief nursing, what can be the advantages and disadvantages?

I have a friend who is a nurse practitioner who worked sometimes high up in organizing red cross response.
I think she would tell you to quit using this site as self promotion.

I bet it's a ton of physical work (a lot of patient lifting and moving).

I'm assuming bet it involves a lot of traveling. From one country's disaster to another country. The rest of the time is probably used up traveling from one country to another where the nurse helps train other nurses in disaster preparedness.
That excessive travelling could be seen as both a pro and con.
