Adam & Eve (original poem)

I watch the serpent
plant cellular devices into the soil
into God's green earth
From these electronic seeds
grow the sky scraping buildings
of corporations
I watch as these pointless towers
devour the sunlight
and suffocate the vegetation
which once grew
in The Garden of Eden

Then I watch Eve
masturbate to pornography
leaving her drained
helpless and easy
In her eyes I see nothing
but the best selling products
and her doctor's signature
on a prescription

I go to find Adam
as an authentic journalist
(so rarely seen)
to break the gut wrenching truth
I find him
drunk, stupid and drugged
I watch him rock out
to classic 80's hair metal
He places is callous covered hand
on my shoulder and says:

"MY BOY, THIS IS THE ******* AMERICAN DREAM!!!"

I turn to my bible
in a desperate attempt
to find Yahweh
As I turn the pages
I find a shard of glass
reflected in it
a boy
shivering in a corner
I look into his dry eyes
to discover
The where abouts
of God
