I'd love to have an example of a word that was borrowed from Latin (or derivative language) three distinct times: during the original occupation (Roman Empire), during the Norman period and then during the Renaissance or later AND where the word shows increased decay (probably mostly meaning length). In other words, the one borrowed first is short and barely recognizable as having that root, the one borrowed next has lost a lot of its form, but is still recognizable and longer and the one borrowed last looks pretty much like Latin.
