Hello there,

My boss bought the aformentioned DVD recorder in the U.S. only to realize that it uses only the NTSC (the dealer told him that it's multi-system).

Is there a way to bypass NTSC? A chip that could make it to PAL machine? I know that aforementioned model is sold on PAL countries as well.

ne1 knows?

thanks,
udi

If the unit does not have native, on-board format conversion capability, no. There are outboard converters available, google "NTSC to PAL" and you'll find 'em. The next question ... if the unit was sold in The US, and was intended for the US market, it likely is Region 1 ... and won't play commercial pre-recorded disks coded for any other region. There are ways around that, too, but only practical if you're very tech-minded and not bothered by voiding the warranty.
