@jcboy,
Well, my throat.
Seriously!
I had a passion for singing, mind you as a kid and then teenager, the pitch was nice and high, think Witney BUT no where near as good, as I got older, off course, I became a bad girl and continued smoking, so the voice got the "deep husky tone" which I liked actually.
I can't sing for the life of me now, too many years have passed, though I did used to sing weddings and special occasions at the Restaurant I managed and cough, stupidly sang at my wedding as well
My brother went for guitar. But only as a hobby. He was a huge , David Bowie fan. Strange, my nephews, (nearly linked lols) now have their own band and play gigs, 21 and 20 years of age, pretty good I might add.. Matt is the drummer, Scott the guitarist and singer, I tell him he takes after his Aunty.
Strange there was no music talent or desire in our family as in parents and grandparents. I tried the piano but couldn't read the notes, I had a singing teacher that taught me at least the notes as far as singing went...
I watch my "daughter" she was 11 when I entered her life, 14 now.. They change so much, she loved horse ridding, no more.. She loved the flute, no more.. She loved boys, no just kidding... But, the point being is they will change unless it is a passion and I think you will establish as my parents did, that for me, it was a passion and so, singing lessons it was. Otherwise, I agree, you could be throwing money away for no reason when the decide, they are bored, next.
