It was a book I think by Charles Dickens. A somewhat poor married man dies leaving a widow and working-age daughter. His rich brother, a money lender, intercedes to help his sister-in-law and niece, if on somewhat harsh terms.

Are you asking for help identifying the name of the book?

If so, you didn't actually phrase your query in the form of a question.

I don't know the answer, if that is what you were asking. But maybe someone else will.

If no one else chimes in with an answer, Wikipedia probably has a general plot description for each of his books. A brief read through their site might lead to the answer.
