Have you hugged your Ouija Board today?
lol
My mother was a very strong fundamentalist + when I was growing up we were taught that when you got messages on Ouija boards, it wasn't ghosts but demons ( or satan) replying to you. The best childhoods are the most f-ed up. I've also seen quite a few faith "healings" .
I'm not saying I believe in any of them,of course. There are such simple psychological explanations for why ouija boards and faith healings appear to work.
To me these things are for parlor games. I don't subscribe for one moment to any powers it supposedly has.
They do "work" if you believe in them, though, although it has more to do with the functioning of the unconscious mind than supernatural powers.

Is it easier to believe something because it seems more cynical
I used my WeeJee board a couple of weeks ago, and it spelled out, "Hey Slappy, how's it going? Not too bad here, just enjoying the last of the decent weather."
I said, "don't you have anything good to tell me, oh great spirit?"
It responded, "Oh, uh, yeah, almost forgot. The Sox will win the World Series this year."
"NO WAY!" I said.
"Yes. And don't forget to slaughter 9 kittens on halloween and put them in people's jackolanterns."
What!?!?!" I asked....
No response.
No way the Red Sox can win it all. The Cards will win the final four. So my Ouija board told me last night.
Odd Socks
I don't operate from cynacysm. It is my honest observation, derived from realistic assessment of the facts.
