That is weird! If I'm not thinking of any number, I get the star of David (what the heck does THAT mean??) and when I think of a number that ends with a zero, the symbol is wrong. Yet for other numbers it's right! This is just weird!!

I tried different numbers and it only worked if I looked at the symbol before I clicked on the ball. Very strange!

I don't think it has anything to do with looking at a symbol. Rather, its the math that produces the result, probably with a fixed formula that does not depend on matching symbols with numbers.

I swear that if I don't look at the symbol before I click on the globe, it comes out wrong. If I look at the symbol before it's right on.

When you have a number that is two digits, like 23, and you take the individual numbers and subtract them from the original number, it will always be a factor of nine. Try it.

23 - (2 + 3) = 23 - (5) = 23 - 5 = 18 which is divisible by 9.

And another one:

57 - (5 + 7) = 57 - (12) = 57 - 12 = 45 again, divisible by nine.

One more, just for S&Gs

98 - (9 + 8) = 98 - (17) = 98 - 17 = 81. Once again, divisible by 9.

That still doesn't explain it. How would it know which combination you're thinking of, since it's only in your head?

I found the answer! I thought I knew part of the answer, but when I looked at the last two numbers, the symbols were the same, so I discounted it.
