Let us decide
With our righteous sword:
Damned tyranny,
Or democratic honey

What do you want when you face the choice between tyranny and democracy?

In my mind, democracy is sweet like honey.

But tyranny can sometimes only be thrown by sword.

I think he means the poem isn't working, not the thought it expresses.
