Tale of two hip patients

seen on today's email...

Quote:
Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint.

Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet.
The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama care...

@gungasnake,
That's a real knee slapper Ganja considering that the Obama care is presently only practiced in Massachusetts (as implemented under Govenor Flippity Floppity Rmoney).

@gungasnake,
Can't you keep your bullshit chain emails to yourself? This is a phenomena of the right-wing that I'll never understand - the propagation of information through anonymous and poorly (if at all) sourced propaganda along personal lines. It's like you all believe all the bullshit you constantly are writing each other about.

I think it's because so many old folks don't understand the internet very well, email is all they can figure out, so they use it for everything. And the GOP is primarily made of old people; ergo...

@gungasnake,
That response doesn't even make any logical sense at all. Why even waste your time on it?

Actually, I believe you probably copied those out of your email account. Which is pretty funny, given.

@gungasnake,
BBB was having to endure severe pain while waiting months for appointments and surgeries long before President Obama's health care reforms started to be implemented.

Interestingly, this last time for her hip surgery last month, she got rushed through with just a 3 week waiting period before surgery, 3 weeks only because that is how long it took for all the preliminary tests and evaluations to be done.

Regarding the animal in your story, most people don't opt for the surgery solution, they have their pet euthanized due to the costs.

The insurance industry includes a similar option for the humans they cover by denying coverage.

I have to admit the truth of that, without having any idea how prevalent it is. I was on someone's list, and finally set up a gmail account just for him, while blocking all his addresses from my yahoo account, which I actually check for email.

It would be so nice to believe everything we wanted to hear, and discard the rest.

@roger,
We just went through selling our house, and three times I've had to debunk the 3.8% sales tax myth. (http://www.snopes.com/politics/taxes/realestate.asp)

Twice, it was the same person.
