Is there a website that lists people who have renounced United States citizenship?

@Region Philbis,
Thank you. Though that is only the notable ones. There may be thousands of others.

n 1996, the U.S. changed its immigration law to include a provision to "name and shame" renunciants. The Department of the Treasury became obligated to publish quarterly in the Federal Register the names of those citizens who renounce their citizenship. Only the names are published, but by counting the number of names in each list, media organizations are able to infer the number of renunciants each quarter.

Discussion about the data and its reliability:

Latest quarterly list:

@contrex,
Thank you. So to check a particular person I would have to check the four filings per year in in Federal Register. I don't know if the Federal Register is on the Internet or if the date that the relevant filings are known.

I just gave you a direct link to the Federal Register. Didn't you click it?

No matter, I'll do your Googling for you:

http://www.google.com/search?=&q=Quarterly+Publication+of+Individuals%2C+Who+Have+Chosen+To+Expatriate&oq=Quarterly+Publication+of+Individuals%2C+Who+Have+Chosen+To+Expatriate

6o+ quarterly listings:

Here, I Googled for a random person, Peter Dragomer, who renounced in 3rd quarter 2002

I typed this into Google -

"Quarterly Publication of Individuals Who Have Chosen To Expatriate" Dragomer Peter

You'll soon get the hang of it.

@contrex,
Yes I did. It gave me the most recent quarterly filing. The person I am interested in is not listed. So I guess I will have to check the Federal Register filings for a date about three months earlier and if the name is not there repeat the process.
