VETERAN IS NOT IN KEEPING WITH SPIRIT OF GUN CONTROL

84-year-old Korean War veteran Fred Ricciutti and his wife were
at home in Elizabeth Township, Pa., when at around 4:30 a.m.
a man armed with a screwdriver and stun gun broke in through
a kitchen window. Upon hearing the intrusion, Ricciutti retrieved
a Luger pistol he carried during the war and went to investigate.
When he found the home invader, Ricciutti ordered the criminal to halt,
but when the intruder turned, Ricciutti fired, grazing the man in
the back of the neck and causing him to flee. A short time later
police captured the burglar a few blocks from Ricciutti’s house.

When asked by local media if the home invader had picked the
wrong target, Ricciutti replied, “I think he probably might have.”

For personal defense, a citizen shud use heavier duty firepower
than a Luger, regardless of how neat thay look. Thay r only 9mm, or less.
That is not reliable. Don 't bet your life on that.

@farmerman,
rotten eggs work for me. In fact, they don't even have to be rotten.

Unreliable; unpredictable, for personal defense.
Maybe if the bad guy is allergic,
u can poison him with it.

@OmSigDAVID,
Given what a bad shot he is, does it really matter?

Not to me it doesn't. Shouldn't matter to you, either.

Shot placement counts for a lot,
but u need firepower to get the job DONE.

(Counter-argument: O, yeah?? Zimmy took out Mr. T
with a little 9mm Luger round.)

A graze is not worth a cheer.
(Still, if Polly Klaas had grazed Richard Davis, in the groin,
with a nice .44 or .45 caliber revolver,
a good one-gun salute, then I imagine that she 'd remain intact.
She obayed the applicable gun control laws and paid the price for it.)
Nature had its way; Richard Davis remained safe because of victims' helplessness.

The gun control laws were SATISFIED.

Point taken. Better to hit with a small caliber than miss with a big noise.

It sounds like u think that large caliber ammunition is inaccurate.

@OmSigDAVID,
Depends on who's behind it. Not everyone likes the loud noise, but that's only a factor after he sets the first one off.
