Does "a senile benevolence" refer to "a father" or "a grandfather"?

I've not rewritten it, but clarified its meaning. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
Your clarified depiction went along with what I asked Dlowan:
I understood your idea as "God wants us to have more good times." Am I on the right track?

But Dlowan replies: No. You are stating the opposite of what I mean.

Now I think you are also stating the opposite of what Dlowan means. Drunk Very Happy

@oristarA,
I'm agreeing with Dlowan. If we just have good times we don't progress spiritually, and stagnate.

@Setanta,
Crotchety old ******, aren't you, Set?

How many times has Setanta promised you that he wouldn't answer any more of your questions, Ori? As I have mentioned before, providing that he sticks to his promise, you can count your blessings.
