Have you ever felt your soul is leaving your body in the beginning of sleep?

I have a lot of experiences that my soul is leaving my body or better say I am
leaving my body in the time that I am not slept but something between to be
conscious and deeply slept.In this situation I always felt frightened and try to
be awake because I feel I am dying Smile . The surprising point is that you can see
your surroundings while your eyes are closed! One time I saw my father
passing me and when I forced myself to be awake I saw him that was walking
to his room passing me . That was really frightening Smile . I am posting this to
ask people if this happen to them and if it is ,what happen to them if you let your
soul to separate from you completely because I always force my self to be
awake! And also I want to know if this is real or no , just perturbations in mind
cause this.

@messier3184,
i sold my soul to the devil in exchange for a life of abject misery and worthlessness, so far it's working out great

No.
When I have out-of-body experiences,
I am instantly out and returning is also instantaneous.
I have never had a feeling of leaving my human body,
nor of getting back into it. All of my experiences
have been of shared consciousness,
wherein I remain both in my human body,
walking, speaking to people ( usually on-the-job in court )
and getting ready to eat, in a restaurant.
I have enjoyed my out-of-body experiences, but thay were too short.

There is no death (just molting).
There is no reason to fear it. www.IANDS.org

@OmSigDAVID,
I've always said better out than in, I wasn't talking about souls though.

I've never had an experience that can be describe so, but I do often have the impression of experiencing "sight" even though my eyes are closed. It feels as if my perception isn't limited by the absence of my visual sense. These experiences often happen in the moments before sleep takes me.

@messier3184,
The closest I have come to your experience is a suddenly flash of vertigo as I am about to fall into sleep. I jump with a start and focus my eyes on something to regain a stable orientation.

Hypnagogic state.

Common and often a source of semi-hallucinations.

Sometimes, unexpectedly, I have had that sense once in a while, when fully awake, out in the world,
as if I were seeing with another sense.

@messier3184,
I suspect so.

Once I knew what it was, I got to really enjoy skimming in and out of it. You can appreciate all the weird associations and what appear to be perfectly sensible directions your mind creates as it slips into sleep. Of course, you have to come OUT of it to reflect on it....so I mainly enjoy it if I am napping in the daytime.

I think of it as skimming just above and just into a stream.
