Athens - When a 40-year old British woman set off a metal detector alarm at Athens airport, bemused security staff found that it was caused by a chastity belt she was wearing.
"It happened a few days before Christmas. The metal detector went off and after a further check we found out she was wearing a chastity belt," airport police official Dimitris Tzouvaras told AFP, confirming a report in the daily newspaper To Vima.
"The woman was allowed to fly on to London on the pilot's responsibility," Tzouvaras added Friday.
According to the press report, the woman told police officers her husband had forced her to put on the belt to make sure she had no extra-marital affair during a brief visit to Greece

dys- Egads! I thought that those things went out with high button shoes and buggy whips. If the woman were smart, she would go directly to the cops and file an abuse report!

A Swiss tabloid had posted a pic of this 'thing' on February 6 (and due to the millions here younger than the two of us, I just post the URL) LINK to "Blick"

Would plastic really look nicer?

Can't understand much German, but I recognized one word in that story.

Schmuck

Would someone please put that in context, or I'm going to die wondering! Laughing

They say (it's a tabloid!) that a chastity belt was iron jewelry in the middle ages.

Eva--

One of the nastiest aspects of the chastity belt is keeping it--and a lady's private parts--clean and sweet smelling.

I hope that the possessive husband was a bit abashed to find his marital strictures a subject for speculation in the world press. I hope that the fettered wife has found out that her husband's jealousy is off the wall.
