10. The following data consist of test scores of 6 randomly selected students and the number of hours they studied for the test. Using these data determine the linear correlation coefficient and if there is a correlation between hours of study and scores on the test.

Hours 5 10 4 6 10 9
Score 64 86 69 86 59 87

@mihanni21 ,
Generally put them in order and assign the hours studies as independant variab;e (x) and the score as dependant variable (y)

x y
4 69
5 64
6 86
9 87
10 86
10 59

Now plot these values in a piece of graph paper and see if a line (y=mx+b) can be fit to this data--you can compare this to a least square best fit line using data manipulation. Then you can use another but of manipulation called a Pearson product to determine the statistical fit of this data to this least square best fit.

Right now the way I see it is you don't have much data and there isn't much of a correlation between x and y---but thats opinion as I haven't calculated the fit (if it expressed in numbers it's opinion--Lazarus Long)
