3. If you reject the null hypothesis based on sample data, does this absolutely mean that the alternative hypothesis is true for the population from which the sample came? Why or why not? Assume appropriate sampling.

"Truth" is the wrong word. The alternative hypothesis is accepted with the confidence level implied by the statistics. You are dealing with "pragmatist philosophy" here, in which "truth" is defined as "what works" in particular contexts, and is subject to agreement, hence the concept of agreed significance levels.
