I'll admit I'm one of those people who watch one video, then click on a related one, and end up watching all kinds of stuff on the far side.
But I've learned how to do a lot of useful things too. Usefullness being a subjective term.
For instance....

On saturday I learned the correct way to muddle cocktails
I learn lots of stuff on youtube. At a library conference last year a speaker noted that when her kids need to learn how to do something they search, in order:

I've also got a new sub to lynda.com, but I'm having a hell of a time being free enough to use it.

I agree hingehead.
The first place I look when I need a refresher, or how to do something hands on, is YouTube.
I also watch videos on stuff I already know how to do, to get tips, or ways to improve technique.
