@CalamityJane,
Goulash.. I used to go to a great little restaurant for my fix years ago. It closed, broke my heart, and only now do I find out that it's a dead simple recipe. Awesome, thank-you.

Meat pies yummmmm, I'll bet I could do a variation of Shepard's pie too.

A shepherd's pie made with beef instead of lamb mince is known as a cottage pie.

@izzythepush,
Thank you, I did not know that. Here in the wilds of Canada, you'd be hard pressed to find any pie with mashed spuds on it, lamb or no, that isn't called Shepard's pie. We aren't that sophisticated.. Very Happy

@Ceili,
Yeah even in my parts - boston area - we called shepards pie a thing with ground beef (not lamb) and mashed potatoes. Never heard of cottage pie. Must be a UK thingy cottage vs shepards - although hearing the name it makes sense.

@CalamityJane,
I'm another one who's gonna try that. I have some good paprika, don't use it enough.

Thanks!

@CalamityJane,
CJANE!

THIS WAS FABULOUS!

Please excuse the all caps.

Definitely entering my regular meal rotation. So good, so easy, what a combo.

I served it with spaetzle, it was amazing. (Just had it tonight.)
