Hint: Let C's share be 12x (the LCM of 4 and 3). Find the other shares in terms of x and solve for x.

Note. Once the ratios are expressed in terms of x you can cancel throughout by by a common factor.

On 2. Did you use the fact that theta=45 or did you use a a trig formula such as the tan (half theta) identities ?

The former. I don't remember any but the most basic trig formulas.
