A 160-foot dragon was unveiled Monday, and hundreds of people were on hand in Chinatown for the start of the Lunar New Year, the longest and most important holiday in the Chinese calendar. Mayor Ed Lee "awakened" the dragon, participating in a traditional "eye dotting" ceremony, where the eyes are painted in. The Year of the Dragon festivities culminate in the Chinese New Year Parade on Feb. 11.
