Today (Jan. 21) marks the 15th anniversary of the glorious day that the US House of Representatives gathered the courage to formally reprimand and then fine their own Speaker -- Newt Gingrich (who is today showing some pretentions to becoming the next President of the United States). It marked the first time in US history that the House had ever taken such action against its own Speaker as he was disciplined for ethical misconduct. The man is supposed to be quite erudite, yet I doubt that he fully understands the meaning of the word "ethics."
IMO this is an event worth celebrating So I shall breakout the champagne and the chablis and dry sherry and all that. Y'all bring the snacks and horse doovers and anything else you fancy and let's all watch this pernicious politician get his gluteus maximus kicked in the SC Republican Presidential Primaries tonight. Come one, come all, even Gingrich supporters!
Cheers!!!
@Lustig Andrei,
Bringing a tray of Sardinian crackers, pane carasau (also known as sardinian music bread):
and some dips. What dips? I dunno yet, took me a while to think of those crackers. Maybe a spinach dip, a salsa, and an onion dip.
