Where Burns takes on a whole new significance...
TAE A FERT

Oh what a sleekit horrible beastie

That lurks in yer belly efter the feastie

Just as ye sit doon among yer kin

There sterts to stir an enormous wind

The neeps and tatties and mushy peas

Stert workin like a gentle breeze

But soon the puddin wi the sauncie face

Will have ye blawin all ower the place

Nae matter whit the hell ye dae

A'bodys gonnae have tae pay

Even if ye try tae stifle

It's like a bullet oot a rifle

Hawd yer bum tight tae the chair

Tae try and stop the leakin air

Shify yersel fae cheek tae cheek

Prae tae God it doesnae reek

But aw yer efforts go assunder

Oot it comes like a clap a thunder

Ricochets aroon the room

Mighty me a sonic boom!

God almighty it fairly reeks

Hope I huvnae **** ma breeks

Tae the bog I better scurry

Aw whit the hell, it's no ma worry

A'body roon aboot me chokin

Wan or two are nearly bokin

I'll feel better for a while

Cannae help but rise a smile

Wis him! I shout with accusin glower

Alas too late, he's just keeled ower

Ye dirty bugger they shout and stare

A dinnae feel welcome any mair

Where e're ye go let ye wind gan free

Sounds like just the place fur me

Whit a fuss at Rabbie's perty

Ower the sake o' one wee ferty.

By a dinnae ken Twisted Evil

This is dreadful! As dreadful as an air-biscuit in a lift (elevator).

Thank you Steve, for drawing it to my attention. I will contact the thought-police immediately.

Burns was a Jacobite rebel. A free thinker, revolutionary, champion of the common man and a freemason. So was he good or bad?

Clary spilled some of the beans, which are:
she and I are going to have the inaugural Sandbach A2K meet in a Sandbach pub next week.
Haha!! Looking forward to it. Mine's a pint, Clazza!

(We may have to start a new Sandbach thread!)

Okay, the inaugural Sandbach meet was held today by Clary 'n' me. A very well-behaved affair; she had the steak pie, and I the steak and chips, in a very nice old timber-framed thatched inn called the Black Bear.
No noticeable drunken abandon, since we both had to drive...but we want to have a London meet before too long!
Walter, is your computer working all right now?

Good Heavens, it looks better with blue sky behind it, doesn't it McT? Yes, the Scottish gent wouldn't touch anything stronger than mineral water, and the pub was largely empty so it was not exactly a wild lunch. Good to make contact with the man behind the iron mask though!

Up for a meet in early summer. Would like you all to come to Devon but I suppose it isn't convenient for most.

Walter, I think Dick Turpin ROBBED the establishment on more than a few occasions!

My first "mineral water" was a gin & tonic, though.

Wild living, or what?

Devon sounds divine, but it is a little hard to get to.
Worth the effort, of course. Lets work on that.
