My aeriel cable and the thingy that clips onto the TV's cable has withdrawn behind the plug cover.
I need to grab - or plier/tweezer it back out, so that I can re-connect the TV.
Is it dangerous - ie live?
I soooooooo know ths is a dumb question - but I do not wanna die!
Your aerial shouldn't be live. But I wouldn't do it while the television is on! Television's store a lot of power in their capacitors even when they've been switched off for a considerable amount of time, so unless you're really sure of what's around where you'll be sticking the tweezers in, I'd recommend you get someone who know's what's going on to do it.
LOL! TV's been off for ages. It is the one in me bedroom - I watch it once in a blue moon. But - ON that blue moon - I like it to be there!
And - how do you spell the damn thing, I know I have it wrong!
If it's been off for a couple of weeks it should be OK.
y'know... here in the Untied Snakes the kind of ariel that pokes out of the back of the telly with one part sticking one way and another part sticking another way... well, we call 'em rabbit ears.
So... think of the poor telly! How would you like it if I came along and asked if YOUR ears were live before grabbing them and waving them around?
Just think of the drivel that passes through those ears... would you want that same drivel passing through yours? Oh... wait... you want to get the TV fixed so you can watch it. Nevermind.
I would cut off the connector, strip the wire, and connect a new connector. At least that's what I've been taught to do during the 1 day I worked for a sattelite company (what a crappy job that was). But that was sattelite and we had all the tools to do it for free. With rabbit ears, might as well just stick a wire coathanger into the TV and use that. There are still people out there that use rabbit ears? Do you still use cassette tapes, VHS, and rotary phones as well?
I don't use rabbit ears!
I have an aerial (or my building does) on the roof.
The connector which is supposed to stick out of a plug in the wall has fallen in behind it, and I need to fish it out in order to connect the television to it.
Oh, I thought it was in the television. Shouldn't have a problem there.

I still have cassette tapes, VHS, and a rotary phone in the basement, but the only rabbit ears around here are on my bunny rabbit :-)
