What will be the aftermath of attacking Iranian nuclear facilities? What will be the environmental risks to surrounding countries to Iran like Iraq Afghanista Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and to Europe. What if the high level of radiation is released from that nuclear facilities. Will it affect the neighbouring countries and the world?
Pay attention to this issue please and spread the word about it

@bromanticlovely,
If the Iranians are as smart as they seem they will make their facilities very difficult to destroy... If the Americans/Israelies are as smart as they let on, they will not attack Iran... The consequences are a hardening of the already hard line Islamic faction, and a disempowering for another 20 years of the forces for democracy... And they might put themselves out of power in that fashion, by bringing on revolt, but any who remembers the Shah and the way things used to be, which was the way we liked them, will risk all, life, fortune, and health to prevent America and forces supported by America from taking over...Again...

There shouldn't be a big radiation risk unless we wait until their reactors are operating before we bomb them (in which case the bombing would cause an uncontrolled meltdown due to the destruction of safety systems and killing of engineers).

The biggest problem will likely be the Uranium Conversion Facility outside Isfahan, where they convert uranium into uranium hexafluoride and back again.

Bombing the Uranium Conversion Facility will release very large quantities of hydrofluoric acid vapor into the atmosphere, and that is a thoroughly unpleasant substance.

Quote:
Hydrofluoric acid is a highly corrosive liquid and is a contact poison. It should be handled with extreme care, beyond that accorded to other mineral acids. Owing to its low dissociation constant, HF as a neutral lipid-soluble molecule penetrates tissue more rapidly than typical mineral acids. Because of the ability of hydrofluoric acid to penetrate tissue, poisoning can occur readily through exposure of skin or eyes, or when inhaled or swallowed. Symptoms of exposure to hydrofluoric acid may not be immediately evident. HF interferes with nerve function, meaning that burns may not initially be painful. Accidental exposures can go unnoticed, delaying treatment and increasing the extent and seriousness of the injury.[8]

Once absorbed into blood through the skin, it reacts with blood calcium and may cause cardiac arrest. Burns with areas larger than 25 square inches (160 cm2) have the potential to cause serious systemic toxicity from interference with blood and tissue calcium levels.[9]

The gas can also cause blindness by rapid destruction of the corneas.

Clearly, when the bombardment commences, downwind of the Uranium Conversion Facility is where you *don't* want to be.
