Baking Cookies-Word Problem
Our class planned a party for disadvantaged kids. Some of us baked cookies for the party. On the day of the party, we found we could divide the cookies into packets of two,three, four, five or six and have one cookie left over in each case. If we divided them into packets of seven, there would be no cookies left over. What is the least number of cookies the class could have baked?

@Lindastanich,
31.I like these word problems. I think you should post a few each day in different categories like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, assorted, algebra, pre-algebra, and geometry! @Lindastanich,
What number is divisible by 2,3,4,5,&6? Well 4 =2*2 and 6=2*3-- look for a number that has factors of 2,2,3 &5 well 2*2*3*5=60

So the number of interest is of the form of n*60+1 & (n*60+1) is divisible by 7

n=1 61 is not divisible by 7 remander 5
n=2 121 is not divisible by 7 remander 2
n=3 181 is not divisible by 7 remander 6
n=4 241 is not divisible by 7 remander 3
n=5 301 is divisible by 7

301 cookies is the answer

Check
301/2=150*2+1
301/3=100*3+1
301/4=75*4+1
301/5=60*5+1
301/6=50*6+1
301/7=43*7
