Judging from the phrasing, I would suspect that it's a paragraph taken almost verbatim from your textbook. Probably all you need to do to answer it is to read the text and copy the answer.

Some of us might be able to figure out the blanks and fill them in with answers which *might* be right, but there is enough ambiguity in the possible answers that the only way to guarantee to get it correct is to copy it from the textbook.

Once you find the answers, please post them here for us to see. Then we can all comment on how banal (or valuable) your textbook is
