Where you live, is it a custom to have an "Old Year" dinner to close out the old year?

sorry for my pessimism
Yeah dinner, We had a big one last night.
After dinner we had fireworks.
We were in My grandparents' home---- a village not far from the southeastern coast. And unlike other big cites the fireworks are all allowed. Nearly every family made some fireworks last night. And I predict there were at least 500 families.
Can you imagine? :wink:
That reminded me of Baghdad
I will soon posted the photos I took last night.
btw, the show of tonight is the best in these years, they performed our true life rather than the propoganda-style stuff, and it really had some good points and was reformed a lot.
Happy new year!!

Ok, so a year after this post is put up, then I find it out. Talk about slow.
My sign is ox - and I am so delighted to find so many ppl interested in the chinese culture! I know in australia we find it fascinating - ppl can't get enough of the "red packets" we hand out at new years but it seems like this Chinese culture fever is all over the world, along with many other cultures of course. I myself find the indian culture fascinating.

very much so!! Its funny - some threads seem to "die" for those who are familiar with them but are very interesting to those who are new! I don't know how many old threads I have looked at to find that I would have loved to participate in that thread when it was active.
Do you have a little dog???

Life in the Great North is absurdly hot right now, Pueo.
Temps in the 35 - 43 Celsius range.
~~~~~~~~~
I had my little dogs shaved to keep them going through this weather.
