1) Two cars leave Denver at the same time and travel in opposite directions. One car travels 10 mph faster than the other car. The cars are 500 miles apart in 5 hours. How fast is each car traveling?
2) Solve the equation. Check for extraneous solutions. l=absolute value bars
4l4-3xl=4x+6
3) Write in slope-intercept form and find the slope and y-intercept of the equation. 9x2y=10

TOTAL DISTANCE=(car 1)SPEEDxTIME+(car 2)SPEEDxTIME
500=5v+5(v+10)
500=10v+50
v=45
The speeds are 45 and 55 mph

Have you written the third one correctly ?

I do not know if we are doing him a favor by doing this for him when he had not shown any attempts to do it himself.

I did enjoyed working the problem but I personally did not feel like giving him the answer.
