(intent on working my NYT puzzle today)

Ok, Roberta. I know one of the tunes from that show, and I promise that I didn't look it up:

Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, right?

They asked me how I knew,
My true love was true,
I of course replied,
Something here inside,
Cannot be denied.

They said someday you'll find,
All who love are blind,
When your heart's on fire,
You must realize,
Smoke gets in your eyes.

(bridge)
So I chafed them and I gayly laughed,
To think they would doubt my love.
But today, my love has flown away,
I am without my love.

So, laughing friends deride,
Tears I cannot hide.
So I smile and say,
When a lovely flame dies,
Smoke get in your eyes.

Those lyrics ain't too good.

And, poet of the Harbor, Seal.
Keeping lifting your lamp beside the golden door.

Knew all but Fozzi, Bear. Now you tell me, Mr. VIP. What song matches which bear:

Little boy kneels at the foot of his bed,
Droops on his little hands, little bowed head.
Hush! Hush! Whispers, who dares.
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers.

God bless Mommy, I think that's right.
(Wasn't it fun in the bath tonight
The cold so cold and the hot so hot.)
God bless Daddy, I quite forgot.

If I open my fingers a little bit more,
I can see Nanny's dressing gown there on the door,
It's a beautiful blue, but it hasn't a hood.
God bless Nanny and make her good.

(can't remember the verses here, but it ends with:)

I said God bless Mommy so what can it be,
Oh, now I remember. It's God bless me.

(Repeat first verse)

Hmmm. Clever buy, Bi.

The entire song is so sweet, that I found the entire thing. Will you settle for that in lieu of money?

Little boy kneels at the foot of the bed,
Droops on his little hands, little gold head.
Sssttt, whisper. Who dares?
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers:
"God bless Mommy, I know that's right,
And wasn't it fun in the bath tonight,
The cold's so cold and the hot's so hot.
God bless Daddy, I quite forgot.
If I open my eyes just a little bit more
I can see Nanny's dressing-gown on the door;
It's a beautiful blue but it hasn't got a hood,
God bless Nanny and make her good.
Mine has a hood and I lie in bed
And I pull the hood right over my head,
And I shut my eyes and I curl up small
And nobody knows that I'm there at all.
Thank you God, for a lovely day,
And what was the other I wanted to say?
I said, `Bless Daddy', so what could it be?
Now I remember: God bless me".

Little boy kneels at the foot of the bed,
Droops on his little hands, little gold head.
Sssttt, whisper. Who dares?
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers:

And Chris is a moppet. Razz

Yup, Letty, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes.

Bi, I was always partial to Fuzzy Wuzzy. Add him to your list. You can't be making a bear list and leave out Fuzzy Wuzzy.
