I know that the Bill of Rights limits the Federal Government (of the U.S.), but does it limit the States?

It was often held by the Supremes, prior to the fourteenth amendment, that the states were not limited by constitutional limits on the Congress or the Federal government. Of course, since the ratification of the fourteenth amendment, the Court has "incorporated" rights as being rights of due process. Obviously, as your thread is entitled "Fourteenth Amendment," you already understand this. So i question why you've asked your question.

@Setanta,
Setanta-
Thank you. I thought it had to do with the 14th Amendment. I should have read it more closely before posting the question.
