Any songs you REALLY relate too?

I can relate to this song completely.

Real with me- Cady Groves.

I'll never catch a shooting star. Or call you out on who you really are.
I know i'm not the one you wanna win. It's a losing game, so i'm losing it.
& i'm suprised that we got this far with that barricade, but i want more.
I would be a fool to let you let me quit.

Maybe you should just say something you haven't rehearsed, but that leaves nothing along with me.
You've neglected the urge to be real.
Real with me if i'd asked for one thing- To say "i love you" but I know you won't blink.
Truth won't pass your lips, i know.
Stop pretending, yeah.

I'm not suprised I let you in this far, so it's safe to say that I still adore you.
I'm not the one who started this, & i won't back down so keep pushing it.
& on the day that you came undone, that day was the last day that I felt home.
So I would be a fool to let you let me quit.

& It was never about what you were not.
But I don't know how much longer I can hold on. Hold on..

@Izzie,
Yeah, I love that one.

Ok,one more Paul Thorn song.

Edit: Gracie, I had a another song in there that I've pulled out because, although it was meaningful to me, I thought it might be hurtful to you. I'm sorry if you listened to it and it hurt you.

I find this one hard to talk about. It chokes me up every time I hear it. Part of it is the lyrics, but most of it is the emotion and pain that comes through Bette. I've heard it sung by others but don't react to it like I do when Bette sings it.

I have so many songs I can relate to but ultimately I always treasure "Imagine" from John Lennon. I guess I consider myself a dreamer too
( with a huge touch of reality)

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I'd say thousands.

For a start,

My Kind of Lady - Supertramp

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftBrd2OKc6s

Let me tell you what I want to say:
You're the only one
who can make me feel this way.
My kind of Lady - no better love could I embrace.
No better heart
no other face can quite compare with you.

========================

Lady in Red - Chris deBurgh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt2YIpZWBqA

I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight

=======================

The One - Elton John

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85B_REWeNcM

I saw you dancing out the ocean
Running fast along the sand
A spirit born of earth and water
Fire flying from your hands

In the instant that you love someone
In the second that the hammer hits
Reality runs up your spine
And the pieces finally fit

History recalls how great the fall can be
While everybody's sleeping, the boats put out to sea
Borne on the wings of time
It seemed the answers were so easy to find
"Too late," the prophets cry
The island's sinking, let's take to the sky

Called the man a fool, stripped him of his pride
Everyone was laughing up until the day he died
And though the wound went deep
Still he's calling us out of our sleep
My friends, we're not alone
He waits in silence to lead us all home

So tell me that you find it hard to grow
Well I know, I know, I know
And you tell me that you've many seeds to sow
Well I know, I know, I know

Can you hear what I'm saying
Can you see the parts that I'm playing
"Holy Man, Rocker Man, Come on Queenie,
Joker Man, Spider Man, Blue Eyed Meanie"
So you found your solution
What will be your last contribution?
"Live it up, rip it up, why so lazy?
Give it out, dish it out, let's go crazy,
Yeah!"

@GracieGirl,
Lately this Gotye hit has had me thinking about 'somebody that I used to know' who if circumstance had been different I could have spent my life with . But for the past 20 years he says couldn't see the point in staying friends. Love this song anyway.

@GracieGirl,
While it might be written by Joni Mitchell, Tom Rush owns this song, which as the days grow shorter fits like a warm jacket.
