Nick Ashford, who co-wrote such Motown classics as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing", died Monday after a battle with throat cancer. He and his longtime partner Valerie Simpson were cornerstones of Soul music for decades.

Oh man I remember seeing them at Live Aid with Teddy Pendergrass. Now only Valerie Simpson remains.
