Anything you want to do before you die?

What do you mean you want to find your mom before long?

I like your list, GG. What would I like to do before I kick the bucket? Hmmm... visit certain countries, try certain foods... things like that. Nothing exciting, that's for sure. If I wasn't so old, I'd take up an instrument and become fluent in several languages. The old brain just ain't what it used to be.

I thought alot of people knew this already because I mention it alot but I dont mind talking about it.
My mom left when I was a baby. A little while after I was born. I don't know where she is and I wanna find her before I get too older. I don't know why but I kinda feel like the older I get the farther apart we are. Like, the more time that passes, the harder it'll be to find her. I can't really explain it but do you kinda get it?

Food and traveling sounds exciting to me! Learning languages doesn't though. I can't do it. I barely passed 'Spanish I' last year. Ha! Playing an instrument sounds fun too. I love the guitar! You can never be too old for music but languages are kinda boring, I think. It's too complicated.

I want to either sail or pilot a boat from Maine to Ireland.

1. See my son happy and settled in a life that he can continue without me around to support him. And see my daughter happy too - but she can take care of herself.
2. Feel that I have done what I do to the very very best of my ability - I tend to be a bit half-hearted and lazy.
3. Get my filing up to date and clean up the back shed

You're still so young....

Own and operate a successful restaurant. But I am 49 and for the most part I am in the "enjoy the fruits of my labors" stage of life, I can either take or leave new projects. The last big goal from youth I recently crossed off, to landscape a beautify home and to do the lawn/gardening to perfection. This year finally I have it the way I want it.

I would like to have many more continuing conversations with myself, re concepts I already know and concepts I know that I now dismiss. Maybe new ideas. And.. better, talks with others on various matters.

I am lucky to have this from a few people, you know who you are, or I hope so, since my idea of consult can be something said shortly, and that person may not know it mattered, plus I've a few others, friends I talk with in real time.

I'm bemused by the thread, anything you want to do before you die, from a teen, but given what Gracie has experienced, I won't take it as a throwaway question.

I think what I want to do is love. But, my pissy self gets in the way.

I was just thinking the other day that I could die feeling very happy with what I've done, seen , felt, experienced in my life.

I still want to walk the Golden Precipice in Wales though, I haven't done that yet.
Maybe next weekend.

I'm looking forward to next month when I visit the US and spend time with my mother and family at the beach.
The beaches here just aren't as hot and beachy and the ocean is too fricking cold to enjoy swimming and relaxing in here- so I am looking forward to floating on the waves - haven't done that in a while. I'd be disappointed to die before I got to do that at least one more time again.
I'd also like to have some Italian sausage off the boardwalk at the Jersey shore again. That's my one of my all time favorite food experiences, walking on the boardwalk with the ocean breeze blowing and eating Italian sausage on a good Italian roll.

In a year or two, when my kids are fully self-sufficient, I want to join the Peace Corps and volunteer in Africa.

Also, I don't want to die before my dog dies. She's ten years old now and she'd be very confused if I just disappeared, so hard as it will be, I'd like her to die before I do.

Well, I'm not 'that' young. I'm a teenager not a toddler.
And people do get smarter overtime. Just like with slavery, women rights, and now gay rights. Some states have even legalized it already.

My cousin Ryan he's gay and he's 18 and when he told my grandparents they flipped out and everything because theyre real religious and uptight. (my dad doesnt like my grandparents) And I think he lost a few guy friends. I just think it's all really stupid and hurtful. I mean, I dont care if some people dont like gay people, I just think they should keep it to themselves, move on, and mind their own business. Ryan isn't hurting anyone by being gay and how come some people feel like they can tell him who to date or marry? It's none of their business. It's reallllyy annoying but I know things are gonna change because they always do, right?

See? I'm not some immature little kid (even though I can be a little naive sometimes, but that's not the point, Ha!) I know alot of stuff and I think I'm pretty smart. Grown ups think kids don't know anything but we do. I am "young" but I think I have alot more common sense than alot of 'adults' (i.e. My grandparents,and people like them). So there!

Cool! My sister actually wants to own a restaurant. She's really into cooking and stuff ever since she got that easy bake oven when we were younger. Shes pretty good at cooking breakfast food and she can bake chicken and macaroni. She's a good baker too, I love her brownies and cakes!

My dad likes to talk to us (me and my brother and sister) about life stuff every now and then. He always asks us what we wanna do and be and gives us advice about how to do it and get there. He's a lawyer so he's good with words and everything he says sounds real smart. Lol

He had a hard childhood I guess so he's always trying to make things easier for us. He says it's good to have 'purpose' because when you have a 'purpose' or goals you have things to look forward to and work hard for. So after our talk (it was really long, and toward the end it turned into a lecture. Figures. ) I kinda started wondering what other people's goals were. I like people alot, and I'm real curious about what other people do and why. Dad says I should be a psychologist when I get older. Not happening. But anyway, I was curious and when I post a question I always write the details for the question first and then I write the name for the thread. So when I was ready to name it I just typed what came in my head. Ha!
