Ban the name Lucifer for a baby?

I don't agree with this decision in New Zealand.

The name, as most of us know, means Light Bearer.
He can call himself Lu.

Why is is ok to name a babe Gabriel or Michael, but not the name of another angel?

I like Lucifer a whole lot better than Michael, one of my least favorite male names. (with apoligies to anyone named that.)

I'll probably name my next cat Pucifer, if nothing better comes to mind. If there is a next cat.
